Oh, Deer.. Happy New Year!

Headed for the casino tonight at 70mph, we came within a foot or two of slamming into three deer standing in the middle of the Interstate. I was surprised to see them out at 10:30pm. Maybe the full moon drew them out.
 
Lost $100 at the casino but had fun!

I can remember...

I can remember, when I was a kid, thinking 21 was old and the year 2000 seemed so far away. Many thought we'd be driving flying cars by then.. seems little has actually changed over the years, even with yet another decade about to close.
 
We're gonna head to a casino tonight and usher in the new year (decade).. meanwhile, happy 2010!

Long Day Today

Everybody's sick here at the "ranch".. Misty took the kids  the doctor earlier.
 
Have some drama going on with the neighbors making noise, night after night, all night. Guess they came home a bit ago with music blaring and woke someone up. Cops got called. Part oliving in an apartment complex, I guess.

Casino

We dropped the kids off at their dad's for an overnite last nite and decided to go to the casino from there. Went into Bordertown with $70, played for almost 3 hrs and managed to leave with $60. From the we went to High Winds Casino.. didn't fare too well and quicklylost what we came with.
 
However, High Winds offers $5 free play for people signing up for their Player's Club card and I signed up for that and put my $5 into a Royal Reels slot, quckly got up to $25 at 50 cents, then hit for $37.50 at $1.25. Ended up leaving with $80.
 
Stopped in Joplin for Chinese at the China Wall..

14 degrees with lots of pretty white snow here, even tho it's not too deep.. at least we have a white Christmas this year!

Areas of blowing and drifting snow with visibility one quarter mile or less at times in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulation up to 2 inches. Highs in the mid 40s. Temperature falling into the lower 30s in the afternoon. Northeast winds 15 to 25 mph in the morning increasing to north 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.
 
Thursday Night
Very windy. Much colder. Areas of blowing and drifting snow with visibility one quarter mile or less at times in the evening. Periods of snow. Snow accumulation of 3 to 4 inches. Total snow accumulation 3 to 6 inches. Lows around 15. West winds 25 to 30 mph. Gusts up to 45 mph in the evening. Chance of snow 90 percent.
